Projects / Amber Books

BRIEF

With a history spanning three decades, Amber Books is one of London’s leading independent publishers in illustrated non-fiction. Their titles include a wide range of history books and military books, as well as travel and general reference titles. With a loyal customer base, their audience is increasingly using online resources to discover and shop their collection.

In order to stay relevant in this competitive market, the client requested an overhaul of their website. A new simple and easy-to-navigate interface was required, with a simple backend that makes it easy for the client to update with new titles.

PROCESS

Working closely with their design agency, we came up with a clear concept. Creating an online bookshop theme, we opted for simple clear colours and a sidebar scrolling theme. This helps showcase the many titles available, without overwhelming the user.

The website was designed by the agency and completely built by 56 Degrees.

A team of 2 worked on the project for 15 weeks, in synergy with the design agency. Bringing this vision to life, the revived website is now user-friendly for customers to navigate and easy for the team to update. It also has an e-commerce focus, with clickable links through to Amazon and other online retailers. The client is extremely happy with their revived website.
